ANADARKO — A traffic stop led to the discovery of a whole mess of methamphetamine for a sale and a Caddo County woman jailed on $250,000 bond.
Crystal Dawn Hunter, 45, of Anadarko, made her initial appearance Monday in Caddo County District Court where she received a felony charge of drug trafficking and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, records indicate.
Due to Hunter’s prior felony convictions, she faces between two years to life in prison if convicted of drug trafficking.
Anadarko Police Officer Logan Davis stated he found a blue Ford Taurus parked with its lights on facing the wrong way in the 600 block of East Main Street around 9:40 p.m. Sunday. While the officer readied to make contact with the car, it drove away, the probable cause affidavit states. The car went into oncoming traffic and Davis make a traffic stop.
The driver provided her license and insurance and Davis stated the passenger, Hunter, was not wearing a seatbelt. A K-9 officer conducted an open air sniff of the car and alerted to narcotics being in the car, the affidavit states.
The driver didn’t have any drugs on her, Davis stated, and received a warning.
Hunter first denied having any drugs but admitted, “give me my purse, I’ve got drugs in my purse,” according to the affidavit. The officer found a clear bag containing seven baggies containing a total of 42 grams of meth in total, a baggie with three grams of marijuana, digital scales, a pipe with drug residue and three cellphones, according to the officer.
Hunter has prior convictions in Caddo County from July 2011 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; and a Grady County conviction from September 2011 for a count of false personation, according to Oklahoma Department of Corrections records.
Records indicate Hunter returns to court at 9 a.m. June 20 for her preliminary hearing conference.
