The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) has voted to include senior non-commissioned officers (NCOs) as eligible members, members of the Lawton chapter said.
The decision, which came from the delegates to the 2024 National Convention, includes grades of E-7 through E-9. Officials say the historic expansion demonstrates the order’s ongoing commitment to recognizing the invaluable contributions of all military leaders in supporting the defense of the nation.
“The decision to open our doors to senior non-commissioned officers is a testament to their leadership, dedication and service,” said Lt. Col. David J. Worley, commander-in-chief of MOWW. “These individuals are the backbone of our armed forces, and their inclusion will only strengthen our ability to fulfill our motto: ‘It is nobler to serve than to be served.’ “
Lawton’s MOWW, the MG Critz Chapter, was formed in 1979. Active duty and retired senior NCOs who want to inquire about the chapter and its work and, possibly join, may contact retired Lt. Col. John Evans, (580) 248-6885 for information.
