WHAT: The Kiowa, Comanche, Apache (KCA) Indian Veterans Organization 5th Annual Veterans Powwow. This year’s event will honor those loved ones who stayed behind when their sons and daughters went off to war to serve our country. This event is at no cost including the meal, the only thing to remember is to bring your own chair. No drugs, alcohol or weapons. Not responsible for accidents, injuries or thefts.
Food and Native craft vendors will be available to show and sell their crafts.
WHERE: Comanche County Fairgrounds Expo Center, 920 S. Sheridan.
WHEN: Saturday – 1 p.m., opening ceremonies and posting of colors; 1:30 p.m., victory dance; 2:30 p.m. gourd dance; 5 p.m., tribute to honorees followed by supper; 6 p.m., gourd dance resumes; 6:30 p.m., grand entry, color guard.
All tribes and non-natives are welcomed to participate.
HONOREES: Ramona Goombia, Cheryl Takawana, Robert Poolaw, Kenny Williams, Lisa Lookinglass, and Christa Killsfirst. Each of these individuals has a long history of serving their family members who have served and fought for our country’s freedom.
