One would think the holidays would be a time for people to be on their best behavior.
Then you’d find out someone is fraudulently claiming donated food items in the name of an association they’re not affiliated with.
The Rev. John Marsh, president of the Ranch Oak Homeowners Association, confirmed the organization has been told someone claiming they were representing the association successfully scammed a local retailer out of 20 turkeys.
While there are other associations that may use some variation of the name, Marsh said there are only four people associated with the original Ranch Oaks Association who are authorized to represent the organization.
Marsh is one, and people who are solicited for donations may contact him to ensure that person is actually representing Ranch Oak Homeowners Association.
His number is (469) 469-4417.
