ANADARKO — A Cyril man is accused of kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend while on meth, as well as threatening others with a firearm.
William Lee Black, 41, made his initial appearance Tuesday in Caddo County District Court where he received felony charges of kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of feloniously pointing a firearm and a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse — assault and battery, records indicate. The kidnapping charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Cyril Police Chief Richard Jones stated he was called shortly after 2:15 p.m. Sunday to a home at 203 N. 4th Street regarding a man pointing a handgun at two people. He spoke with the two people who said Black pointed the gun and threatened them before leaving in a black Dodge Ram truck.
Jones spoke with Black’s girlfriend who said he “works for Cyril” and had been holding her against her will for the past several days, physically assaulting her and threatening her with the pistol, the probable cause affidavit states. She had several bruises on her body, according to Jones.
The woman said Black had taken her out into the county and taken all her warm clothes while covering her with water and driving with the windows down while temperatures were sub-freezing, the affidavit states. She also said he’d been threatening her with the gun while driving and smoking methamphetamine and blowing it in her face, Jones stated. She also said, if it came down to it, Black said, he wasn’t going to jail and the police would have to shoot him.
Black was taken into custody but declined to speak about the incident.
Black returns to court at 9 a.m. March 26 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
