Cameron University has joined the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP), a recruitment and referral program, for the second year.
The program connects federal and private-sector employers nationwide with college students and recent graduates with disabilities who want to demonstrate their abilities through internships or permanent jobs, according to a press release. For many alumni, WRP is the first step to a successful, long-term federal career.
Once a student or recent alumnus applies, a representative from the U.S. Department of Labor will contact CU’s program coordinator, Vicki Henson, the release said. Henson will facilitate a virtual appointment for the applicant to meet with personnel from the department. During the appointment, applicants will gain interviewing experience, explore government career options, learn about internship or long-term job opportunities at federal agencies and more.
WRP is managed by the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Defense.
For more information about WPR, contact Henson at (580) 581-2301 or [email protected].
