The City of Lawton’s Youth and Family Affairs Committee is opening its application period for Lawton 501©(3) organizations who want grants for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
Applications will be accepted from Dec. 2 through Jan. 31, with those grants specific to local nonprofit organizations who host programs for the city’s youth during the upcoming fiscal year (July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026). Applications and information may be found on the City of Lawton’s website at lawtonok.gov under the City Clerk’s page. Applications must be submitted to the Lawton City Clerk’s Office in Lawton City Hall no later than 5 p.m. Jan. 31.
City officials said this is a competitive grant opportunity and organizations must demonstrate through their applications that their programs will:
• Focus on at-risk youth
• Provide opportunities for life and/or career-enhancing skills
• Increase the percentage of youth who stay in school
• Increase the percentage of youth who stay active in programs that foster youth development and prevent involvement in crime
• Promote academic or other non-athletic related activities and life skills
Required pre-application training will be held at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 26 in the Banquet Room of Lawton City Hall, 212 SW 9th. This training will cover the requirements and guidelines for the grant process, including application procedures, financial documentation standards, compliance expectations and allowable expenditures. Attendance is a prerequisite for any organization or individual seeking to apply for grant funding. Additional training dates will be announced at a later time.
Officials said the total amount of funding available for FY25-26 programs is approximately $375,000, subject to funding appropriated by Lawton City Council. The Youth and Family Affairs Committee plans to make a recommendation to the City Council regarding funding requests in June 2025.
