A naked man pulled over for reckless driving asked officers if he could finish his dope before they arrested him.
Police said the driver claimed he was “in outer space” and asked if he could “finish the rest of my dope” before his arrest.
Aaron Craig Paddyaker, 37, of Lawton, made his initial appearance Monday in Comanche County District Court where he received a felony charge of possession of a firearm after former felony convictions and misdemeanor counts of reckless driving and resisting police, records indicate. Due to two prior felony convictions, he faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the gun charge.
Lawton Police Sgt. Tyler Zehren stated he was finishing a call in the 1900 block of Cache Road around 10:10 p.m. March 29 when he saw a black truck with no lights on run over multiple curbs before getting onto Cache Road at a high rate of speed. The truck ran a red light while traveling westbound on Cache Road past North Sheridan Road and the officer initiated a traffic stop.
The 6-feet, 8-inches tall 260-pound Paddyaker got out of the truck completely naked and started to get in the driver’s side door of Zehren’s police unit before turning around, Zehren stated. The officer used his Taser, causing Paddyaker to drop to the ground and be handcuffed, the probable cause affidavit states.
When Paddyaker got out of the truck, he’d left it in drive and it ran into a road sign before coming to a stop.
“Paddyaker had highs and lows in his behavior,” the affidavit states, “he would fight with officers and then fall asleep.”
During a search of the truck, a .45 caliber handgun in a holster was found under the center console, according to the affidavit.
Paddyaker was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital for medical evaluation and is accused of spitting on a nurse. When asked why he spit on other people, he responded, “I just felt like being nasty,” the affidavit states.
Paddyaker has two prior felony convictions in Comanche County: March 2008, lewd, indecent or lewd acts with a child under 16; and from February 2023 for a protective order violations, records indicate.
Held on $75,000 bond, Paddyaker returns to court at 3 p.m. June 4 for his preliminary hearing conference.
