The kind of scores that make for an association overall season high series made their way into the Early Birds League at Thunderbird Lanes, where Ted Williams found the gift that kept giving. Strikes, that is, as Williams rolled 34 out of a possible 36 to put together a career-high 844 series.
Williams started off with the first 12 strikes in a row to post what is believed to be his twelfth career perfect 300 game. It was frame two of game two before Williams faced his first spare, a seven-count split, which he only got two of before starting the string all over again and going off the sheet for a 265. Williams then rolled fourteen more strikes, well into game three, before his only sin-gle-pin leave showed up. An easy conversion and off the sheet he went once more, adding a 279 to sum up his fourth career 800 series.
