ANADARKO — A Caddo County man wanted since June and accused of preying upon a half-awake 12-year-old girl is now behind bars on $500,000 bond.
Donnie James Bryant Rutledge, 38, of Apache, made his initial appearance Wednesday in Caddo County District Court for a count of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16, records indicate. The crime is punishable by between three to 20 years in prison.
Caddo County jail records indicate he was taken into custody Monday.
The girl told Caddo County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Leal that Rutledge touched her inappropriately while she was sleeping on April 28, the warrant affidavit states. The girl said she stays at one of two homes while her parents are at work and the incident happened at one of them.
As part of Rutledge’s bond conditions, he is to have no contact with the girl. He returns to court at 9 a.m. Jan. 16, 2025 for his preliminary hearing conference.
