Texas couple accused of knifepoint robbery in Marlow

DUNCAN — An arrest warrant for was issued Wednesday for a Texas woman already jailed with another man for charges relating to their Sept. 25 arrests.

The Stephens County District Court issued the felony warrant for Elida Hernandez, 23, of Gonzalez, Texas, for a count of first-degree robbery after former felony conviction, records indicate. Due to her prior conviction, she faces between 10-years to life in prison if convicted.

Hernandez is accused of working with Jeffrey Blake Wright who robbed a Marlow man at knifepoint of items like a laptop computer, drill, battery powered grease gun, surround sound system, fishing pole, watch, silver bracelet, smoking accessories, a sword, pocketknife, poker chip holder and iPhone charger, according to the warrant affidavit.

The victim told police the Wright had come over to hang out before returning to Texas. He said Wright hit him in the face and pointed a knife to push him back inside the house while Hernandez grabbed the items and put them into a car, the affidavit states. The couple then returned to a Duncan motel.

Duncan police found the vehicle the next day at the Derrick Motel.

Hernandez and Wright were taken into custody. The items stolen from the robbery and a car taken without the owner’s consent from Texas were recovered by police.

Wright received a felony charge of first-degree robbery after two or more former felony convictions on Oct. 5 and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Both, Hernandez and Wright were charged Sept. 26 with felony counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property after former felony convictions and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, records indicate. They each received $100,000 bonds for those charges, as well.
