ELGIN — Two teens were injured Thursday following a wreck blamed on failure to yield at a stop sign, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Alyssa E. Beuttel was driving a Jeep Cherokee southbound on Northeast Kleeman Road around 1 p.m. when she failed to yield to a stop sign at Oklahoma 17 and was struck in the passenger side by a Ford F-350 pickup driven by a 17-year-old Rush Springs boy, about 1 mile north of Elgin, Trooper Spencer Sperling reported. The teen driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
Beuttel, 19, of Wanette, was admitted to Comanche County Memorial Hospital in stable condition with head and trunk injuries, Sperling reported. Her passenger, Jakob S. Raines, 18, of Fletcher, also was admitted to Memorial in stable condition with an internal trunk injury. The were both wearing seatbelts.
