Following two days of evidence and testimony, a Comanche County jury closed out the final week of the jury trial docket with a not guilty verdict for a Marlow man accused of rape.
Ty Alan Turner, 20, was found not guilty Nov. 22 of counts of first-degree rape by force or fear and first-degree rape by instrumentation, records indicate.
Turner and another man, Isaac Heath Powers were charged in October 2022 for allegations they held a 15-year-old Lawton girl against her will and, together, raped her.
A charge of second degree rape was dismissed against Powers, 20, of Comanche, in November 2023, records indicate.
The girl told police she was staying the night with two of her friends in April 2022 at a Lawton home when one of the girl’s older brother and his friends, Powers and Turner, came to the home and, she said, she went into the brother’s room to retrieve a vapor.
The girl claimed the friend’s brother told her she could have it if she performed a sex act on Powers, according to the affidavit. She told police the three kept her in the room and that she was sexually assaulted.
With the jury’s decision, Turner’s $25,000 bond was exonerated.
