Local musicians are working together to help benefit a man who has mentored many through songs and stages.
The second day of the Terry Allen Benefit Music Festival is slated to begin with music at noon Sunday at the Great Plains Coliseum Expo Center, 920 S. Sheridan. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. each day. You’re asked to bring chairs.
Tickets: $20 and are available at the door or online: https://trailoffear.ticketspice.com/terry-allen-benefit-music-festival.
Allen has been suffering medical issues since January 2023.
Because Allen has always given selflessly when others have been in need, Jeri Anderson Kimbro, brand manager at KLAW 101.3, said it was time to selflessly come to his aid. All proceeds from the benefit will go directly to Allen.
“All of the proceeds of this benefit will go straight to Terry and Skylor,” she said.
• Kim Hunter; Bret James & Anthony Spencer and the Whiskey Runners Band; Jeff Rodgers; Frank, Sheena & Gisele; Garagemahalix; Cody Newby; and Oklahoma Outlaws.
Donations are being taken as well as silent and not so silent auctions and 50/50 raffles. You can also contribute to the GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/terry-allens-benefit?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer&utm_term=CP_SSS_control.
There will be food trucks and beer available.
