Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Eta Xi Lambda Chapter will hold its annual Project Alpha Conference on Saturday at Cameron University.
The event, for males in grades six through 12, will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the CETES Building, Room 109. Registration for the free conference begins at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided.
The conference is designed to provide education, motivation and skill-building issues of male responsibility in relationships, teen pregnancy prevention and information on sexually transmitted diseases. Project Alpha consists of a series of workshops and informational sessions, according to a press release.
Some program highlights include education on fatherhood and the role of males in relationships, motivating young men to make good decisions and their goals and values and build young men’s skills through role-playing.
Other topics involve responding to law enforcement, youth mental health awareness, dressing for success and financial management.
