Plans for the final phase of remodeling at the city airport helped push the value of commercial building permits past $8.74 million in April.
The city also issued 10 permits for single-family homes valued at $2.2 million, up from eight permits in March.
The largest permit, valued at $6 million, was for the final phase of a project at Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport. The work is on the north side of the terminal to move the bagging screening area and renovate the exterior.
Other large commercial permits included:
•A $600,000 permit for a new roof at Diamondback Harley-Davidson, 301 SE Interstate Drive;
•A $350,000 permit to convert the gym of the former Country Club Heights school, 714 SW 45th, into the McMahon S212 Guest House for homeless youth;
•A $220,000 permit for interior remodeling at 421 NW 2nd to convert the former Bed Bath & Beyond in Lawton Town Center into a Five Below and pOpshelf;
•A $167,782 permit for remodeling refrigeration equipment at the Walmart Neighorhood Market, 3745 W. Lee;
•A $150,000 permit to remodel space at 1415 NW 67th for Charge Cafe Coffee; and
•An $87,000 permit for a parking lot at 1212 NW Arlington for the Lawton Community Health Health Center Midtown.
