The City of Lawton Arts and Humanities and McMahon Auditorium Authority are continuing their Let’s Talk About It series with a discussion of “A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain” by Robert Olen Butler at 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at McMahon Memorial Auditorium in the West Lobby.
Titled, “Writing Worlds: The Art of Seeing in Anthropology, Fiction and Autobiography,” the series explores how our observations can shape our lives and how they influence how we perceive reality.
Robert Olen Butler’s book is a 1992 collection of short stories, according to a press release. Each collection is narrated by a different Vietnamese immigrant living in Louisiana. The stories are largely character driven and focus on cultural differences between Vietnam and the United State.
