A Lawton teen was arrested Monday after, investigators said, he returned to the car dealership where security video captured him breaking out the windows to 19 cars and a garage door with a baseball bat.
Mason Anders, 18, made his initial appearance Thursday in Comanche County District Court where he received a felony charge of malicious injury to property over $1,000, records indicate.
Lawton Police Officer Tyler Zehren stated he was called to the Kia dealership, 4455 Cache Road, around 10 p.m. Monday and spoke with an employee who said a man who had previously damaged the vehicle windows and garage door. The employee said as soon as he was seen he took off running through the parking lot but was chased and detained by employees, the probable cause affidavit states.
Security video showed Anders busting out the lot’s car windows with a baseball bat and a garage door causing $15,600 worth of damage to the business, according to the affidavit.
Held on $10,000 bond with the order to have no contact with the Kia lot, Anders returns to court at 3 p.m. Oct. 29 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
