Lawton Public Library is accepting applications through May 15 for 2023 Summer Teen Volunteers.
The 2023 summer session begins June 1 and continues through July 31. Young adults who are between the ages of 14-18 years old and still in high school are eligible to apply. Applications may be picked up at either library location or downloaded from the library website: lawtonok.gov/departments/library. Positions are limited and will be filled on a first-come basis. Late applications will be placed on a waiting list.
Responsibilities include assisting customers on Beanstack, shelving books, pulling holds and assisting with various other tasks. Teen volunteers are expected to work a minimum of four hours a week, Monday through Saturday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. They must be willing to dress appropriately and report to the library in a library T-shirt and name tag.
There will be a mandatory training session for selected volunteers. Those selected will be contacted by library staff by May 18.
Completed applications can be returned to the library or emailed to [email protected]. Information also is available by calling 581-3450 extension 1711.
