A Comanche County jury found a 50-year-old man guilty Wednesday of seven counts of molesting a 15-year-old girl since she was 4 years old and recommended he serve life in prison.
Albert Mares, of Lawton, was found guilty of three counts of lewd molestation, two counts of first-degree rape of a child under 14, and single counts of forcible sodomy and second-degree rape.
The jury recommended he serve two life sentences for the forcible sodomy and second-degree rape counts and 20 years for each of the other charges.
District Judge Grant Sheperd ordered a pre-sentencing investigation and set formal sentencing for 11 a.m. Jan. 9, 2024.
During a forensic interview with investigators, the victim testified of inappropriate touching by Mares. She said Mares had molested and sexually abused her several times since she was 4 years old, the warrant affidavit states.
Mares remains in jail on no bond until his sentencing.
