It took two days of trial and an hour’s deliberation for a former Geronimo High School principal to be found not guilty of assaulting a student in March 2022.
The misdemeanor trial of Heath Ryan Selcer, 42, of Geronimo, in Comanche County Special District Judge Susan Zwaan’s for a count of assault and battery began with jury selection Monday, records indicate.
Selcer was accused of getting into an argument with a student in March 2022 and of slamming the student’s laptop computer shut on his fingers. Following testimony and evidence, the jury began deliberations at 3 p.m. Tuesday and rendered their verdict by 4 p.m., records indicate.
Following the initial court filing in April 2022, Selcer has since been terminated from his position with Geronimo Public Schools.
