Monday is the deadline to request absentee ballots by mail for the April 1 board of education and statutory municipal general elections.
Applications must be received by county election boards, including Comanche County, no later than 5 p.m. Monday.
Comanche County Election Board Secretary Amy Sims, said absentee voting is available to all voters and applications can be submitted online, in person, or by fax, mail or email. Voters may apply online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp. Applications also are available at the Comanche County Election Board or may be downloaded at oklahoma.gov/elections.
No excuse is needed, but Sims said only the applicant can submit his/her own absentee ballot application. Questions may be submitted to the county election board at (580) 353-1880 or via email at [email protected]. The election board, located in the Comanche County Courthouse at Southwest 5th and C Avenue, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
In Comanche County, April 1 elections include: Cement Public Schools board of education; Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center board of education; Cache mayor; Chattanooga board of trustees; Elgin mayor and a funding proposition; Fletcher board of trustees; Sterling town board of trustees and Sterling Public Schools board of education; and Empire board of education.
