ANADARKO — Charges were dropped against a Carnegie man first accused of threatening another man with a knife over a dented truck door.
When the alleged victim failed to appear for the man’s preliminary hearing, the case was dismissed by Caddo County Special District Judge David A. Stephens.
On Wednesday, Caddo County Assistant District Attorney Matthew Niemen moved to dismiss a felony charge of assault, battery, or assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, as well as a misdemeanor count of threatening to perform an act of violence against Ronnie Vaughn Manley, 60, without prejudice, records indicate. The charges could be refiled.
Carnegie police received a report shortly before 10:30 a.m. Nov. 13, 2023, from a man who said Manley had threatened him with a knife. He said he’d been washing his pickup when Manley pulled up and yelled at him before he got out of his truck and pulled out a knife, according to the probable cause affidavit. The man said Manley threatened to “take (man) out” over a dent in his truck’s door, according to Martin.
After being held on $10,000 bond since his Nov. 27, 2023, initial court appearance, Manley is free with no court costs, records indicate.
