Cameron University has announced the winners for its Invitational High School Art Competition and Exhibition.
According to a press release, CU’s art faculty evaluated 148 entries from 78 high school art students to select the winning submissions for the event. The exhibition will be on display through May 3 in the Art Teaching Gallery, located in the Art Building on the East side of the Louise D. McMahon Fine Arts Complex.
Winners are:
1st: Makeyla Pewenofkit, Anadarko High School, painting, “Rayne.” 2nd: Savanna Black, Lawton Academy of Arts and Sciences, pen and ink drawing, “Tiger.” 3rd: Isabel Todd, Lawton High School, print, “untitled.”
Honorable Mentions:
Dymond Flowers, MacArthur High School, clay sculpture, “Neri Komi”; Brianna Hill, Anadarko High School, charcoal and acrylic painting, “Self Portrait #3”; Jacqueline Scheel, Lawton Academy of Arts and Sciences, acrylic painting, “Koi”; Alisha Le, Eisenhower High School, newspaper creation, “Paper Flowers”.
