Cameron University will be one of five host sites for the second round of regional meetings for the Oklahoma Comprehensive Water Plan being developed by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board.
The southwest region meeting will be held from 1-4 p.m. Dec. 11 in the McCasland Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Complex, located on Cameron University at 2800 W. Gore. The session will be open to anyone, including local officials, water utility suppliers, commercial agriculture producers and economic development entities.
Other sessions are planned Dec. 5 at Panhandle State University in Goodwell; Dec. 12 at Kiamichi Technology Center, Talihina; Dec. 13 at the Cherokee Chota Center, Tahlequah; and Dec. 14 at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, Oklahoma City. A virtual meeting is slated from 9-11 a.m. Dec. 14, with residents able to join through the Oklahoma Water Resources Board website at oklahoma.gov/owrb/water-planning.html.
Each regional session will feature an update on plan development, to include a recap of comments collected during round 1 meetings; work with attendees to identify actions or topics in areas such as permitting/regulations/policy, collaboration/partnerships, and funding/financing; and discussion of upcoming Oklahoma Comprehensive Water Plan activities.
