A one man destruction campaign along Cache Road led to a 23-year-old man’s arrest, according to police.
Luke Manzanares made his initial appearance Wednesday in Comanche County District Court where he received two felony counts of malicious injury to property over $1,000 and misdemeanor counts of trespassing after being forbidden and threatening to perform an act of violence, records indicate.
Lawton Police Sgt. Dane Swinford stated he was called the morning of Oct. 20 to McDonald’s, 3144 Cache Road, regarding a paver being thrown through a window in the play area causing $1,300 in damages. A witness working outside said he saw a man shatter the window before walking eastbound.
Police found the man, identified as Manzanares, near the front door of Jack in the Box and detained him. The store manager told police Manzanares was previously banned from the property, Swinford stated. Manzanares yelled at the manager that he was going to torture the store staff and their families, the probable cause affidavit.
Manzanares was taken back to the first witness who identified him as the man who threw the paver at McDonald’s. He was taken to City Jail and booked.
Later, a report from McAlister’s Deli of Manzanares throwing a cup of ice at a glass menu screen came into police, the affidavit states. Damage to the screen was about $1,000, Swinford stated.
Manzanares has a May 2020 felony conviction in Comanche County for a count of grand larceny, records indicate.
Held on $25,000 bond, Manzanares returns to court at 3 p.m. Feb. 27, 2024, for his preliminary hearing conference.
