The Comanche Indian Veterans Association (CIVA) France Delegation is holding more fundraisers to assist with costs to attend the 80th D-Day Anniversary in Normandy, France.
The events are meant to allow the delegation the opportunity to honor a Comanche legacy to history, the Comanche Code Talkers who sent coded messages during the World War II Normandy invasion, according to Commander Kevin Pohawpatchoko.
An Indian taco sale begins at 11 a.m. today until sold out at the Comanche Nation Police Department, 8528 NW Madische Road.
Tacos, drink and dessert is $10 and frybread alone is $2.
Call 580-919-1065 for deliveries.
The next fundraiser will be a Sweetheart Dance at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Lawton Farmers Market, 77 SW 4th. There will be a live DJ, food, drawings and more.
Cost is $20 per couple and $10 for singles.
