The MacArthur High School JROTC battalion placed third in the South Grand Prairie, Texas, Drill Competition the weekend of Dec. 7.
MacArthur competed against 35 other teams from the Army, Air Force and Marines from across Texas and Oklahoma.
The Academic Team commanded by Cadet Maj. Braden Evans with Scott Mar-rer, Abram Rayos and Jasmine Kirksey won first place.
The Male Raiders (Physical Fitness Team), consisting of Matthew Howell, Jaden Hernandez, Ashlie Overby and Scott Mahrer won second place. The Female Raiders Physical Fitness Team consisting of Layla Blackmon, Jasmine Kirksey, Natalie Rivera and Emma Hilburn placed third.
The Male Color Guard Team Commanded by Cadet Capt. Scott Mar-rer placed second in the Inspection
Phase and the Un-Armed Drill Team commanded by Cadet Lt. Col. Abigail Benoit placed third in the Exhibition Phase.
