The 580 Pitch Competition has selected their four finalists who will compete for the top prize of $10,000.
“We’re excited to be able to host the 580 Pitch Competition again this year. As we saw with our 2023 cohort, the prize money allows these small businesses to push their business to the next level,” event coordinator and Great Plains Tech Small Business Management Coordinator Carey Monroe. “We have an amazing group of finalists.”
The finalists are:
• KMZ Investments. KMZ Investments is a startup real estate investment company focused on acquiring and renovating properties in Lawton to operate as short-term vacation rentals. The company is structured as an LLC with 100% ownership by the founder, Kimberley Morris, who brings extensive expertise in property management and identifying lucrative investments.
• Broke Bitches Mobile Pet Grooming (AKA Broke Bs Pet Grooming). owners Sarah G. McNair and Holly Alford Staeden believe that all pets should have the opportunity to lead a better life through consistent and thorough grooming services. They provide safe and hygienic care to pets from all backgrounds. They offer the services of well-trained groomers who operate mobile salons with the-of-the-line safety equipment.
• Poly HuliHuli RibChic. Poly HuliHuli RibChic is owned and operated by Iafeta and Betty Veu is a unique mobile food establishment in Lawton specializing in Grilling Polinesian Passion into every bit of ribs and chicken. The word “HuliHuli” means “turn” in the Hawaiian language. The company’s innovative rotisserie customized mobile grill sets them apart from other restaurants or food establishments in the area.
• Alexandria’s Cleaning Co LLC. Alexandria’s Cleaning is owned by Alexandria Reed and provides high quality cleaning services for commercial and residential properties. Services include post construction cleanings, eco-friendly cleaning options, top-to-bottom deluxe cleanings, maintenance cleanings, and move in/move out cleanings. Their attention to detail, along with the latest cleaning techniques and tools enables them to consistently deliver exceptional results.
The four finalists will participate in a Pitch Boot Camp to hone their presentation skills and then present their live pitches before the panel of judges on July 25 in the McMahon Lecture Hall in Great Plains Technology Center’s Business Development Center, 1601 SW Park Ridge. The judges will then evaluate the pitch and business plan to name the winner.
Judges for the live event include Doug Stephens, City National Bank; Chris Coast, Coast Technology Group; Monte Brown, Liberty National Bank; Bernita Taylor, MIGHT Community Development; and Brenda Spencer-Ragland, NextHome Tri-Covenant Realty.
Prize amounts include the top prize of $10,000 Liberty National Bank With You All the Way; $5,000 runner-up; $3,000 third place; and $2,5000 fourth place.
“The Lawton Fort Sill business community stepped up once again and we received enough sponsorship dollars to award the same prize amounts as last year. We are grateful for all of the support we’re seeing for these locally-owned small businesses,” said Monroe.
