DUNCAN — The Comanche Nation is asking people to look out for a tribal member who went missing March 4.
Jerry Wayne Buono, 57, was last seen around 7 a.m. March 4 in the 1100 block of North 4th Street in Duncan wearing a dark gray/green jacket, blue jeans and white shoes. A diagnosed schizophrenic, he left his prescription medications when he left. Police have said he was seen the next day in the Decatur, Texas, area.
Buono is reported to have made contact with law enforcement in Rhome, Texas, on March 11. He told police he was headed to Louisiana to visit family and was last seen in the area of Fairview, Texas.
Buono is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 340 pounds with black shoulder-length hair with a small scar across his back.
The family has teamed up with the Missing, Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) – Indian Capitol for aid in finding Buono. He is a member of the Comanche Nation and Wichita & Affiliated tribes.
