Work Ready Lawton is hosting its WORKlahoma Job Fair Wednesday at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 135 NW 2nd.
The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A sensory friendly hour for veterans and others requiring special accommodations will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
On site assistance will be available from Great Plains Technology Center, Oklahoma Works, Legal Aid, and Oklahoma Rehabilitation Services.
“The goal is for job seekers to meet employers. We want and have a variety of employers so people can find the career they’ve been looking for,” said Bernita Taylor, Program Director for Work Ready Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitative Services will also be present throughout the whole day for those with special needs to speak with and find careers suitable to their skill sets.
There will also be information sessions to get job seekers, focused on introducing them to Work Ready Lawton, interview preparation, and job skills. Another session will be for employers to learn about the target market for the people that Oklahoma Works serves.
Work Ready Oklahoma services in Comanche County are provided by a contract with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. The multi-million-dollar program is designed to provide a path for low-income Oklahomans to improve their lives and the lives of their families. The contract won by MIGHT Community Development Resource Center in Lawton earlier last year.
