There are still angels out there in need of your help this Christmas.
The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary is having its annual Angel Tree program at Walmart, 1002 N. Sheridan. The table is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday’s end date. Distribution day will be Dec. 13.
The tree contains Angel lists of items wanted or needed by children this Christmas season. Shoppers can select an Angel and purchase the items identified and return them to the table for distribution.
Out of the 621 children represented as Angels on the tree, there are still 265 awaiting adoption.
For many families, Christmas time offers an extra burden for struggling families with the desire to get gifts for their kids. The program allows members of the community to help parents provide gifts, new clothes, and (put) toys under the tree.
As well as Comanche County, the Angel Tree also serves four other surrounding counties: Cotton, Jefferson, Stevens and Tillman.
