DUNCAN — A wild hog in the roadway is blamed for Friday night wreck in western Stephens County that sent a juvenile driver to an Oklahoma City hospital after being pinned inside the vehicle, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The unidentified teen male, from Duncan, was driving a Ram 1500 westbound on a Stephens County gravel road shortly after 11:30 p.m. when the pickup struck a wild hog in the roadway, Trooper Kyle Keithley reported. The truck swerved and hit a bridge railing pinning the unseatbelted teen inside. It took Empire firefighters 1 ½-hours to free him by using the Hurst tool.
The teen was flown to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in stable condition with leg injuries, Keithley reported.
The wild hog in the roadway is blamed for the wreck, according to the report. There’s no information available regarding the status of the hog.
