DUNCAN — The City of Duncan is partnering with Ferguson Waterworks to upgrade all water meters beginning in early August.
Uniformed employees with Ferguson Waterworks and their subcontractors, Kamstrup and Second Sight Systems, will be in the community and are authorized to do the installation of the new AMI water meters, city officials said. The installations will occur from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with each meter taking an estimated 20 minutes to complete. Inclement weather may affect the timeline of installations in all areas, officials said.
City of Duncan residents will receive door tag notifications on their front doors 7-10 days prior to the installation in their area, as well as door tag notifications by the contractor informing them when the installation is completed. Residents do not need to be home for the installation; however, water will be temporarily shut off during the upgrade. Residents with medical conditions should call the City of Duncan at (580) 252-0250 to make any necessary arrangements.
The City of Duncan’s contractor Bermex will continue to read all water meters while the communications networks are integrated. The upgrade will provide residents with a customer portal to easily monitor water usage and sign up for alerts, as well as early leak detection and personalized water budgeting.
