The Oklahoma Senior Women’s Golf Association came to Lawton-Fort Sill recently and enjoyed two great days of action at the Fort Sill Golf Club.
The organization was founded in 1954 for women 50-and-over and their low net event was completed with a field of 13 women from across the state.
Martha Walker, a 17-handicapper, came away with the low net championship recently at the event. Walker put together gross rounds of 90-89 and with her handicap that gave her 73-72—145 to claim the top honor and take home the traveling trophy. She also claimed the B Flight title.
Betty Dixon claimed A Flight honors, edging out Lori Garrison. Teresa Stephens and Judy Sapp tied for third and Doris Washington was fourth.
Taking B Flight honors was Martha Walker while Cheryl Duff was second, Jean Linke third and Melanie Green fourth.
Top honors in C Flight went to Walters golf Shirley Cooper who organized the event and brought it to her home course at Fort Sill. Theresa Flanagan was second and Elaine Clawson third in that flight.
Taking closest to the pin honors were Betty Dixon in A Flight, Jean Linke in B Flight and Shirley Cooper in C Flight.
