Vehicular assault nets Duncan man jail, $75,000 bond

DUNCAN — After being wanted for almost a month, for a Duncan man accused of angrily pulling away from his girlfriend’s house with his door open and of dragging her brother and mother with his Jeep is in jail on $75,000 bond.

Rodney Dale White, 45, made his initial appearance Monday in Stephens County District Court where he was charged with two felony counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, records indicate. Due to prior felony convictions, if convicted, he could serve between 20 years to life in prison and would have to serve 85 percent of a sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

An arrest warrant was issued Sept. 12 and White was taken into custody on Saturday.

White is accused of injuring his girlfriend’s brother and elderly mother during an Aug. 28 incident at 1115 W. Ash.

The woman said she and her son were working on a vehicle in the driveway when she saw her daughter exit the house while verbally arguing with her boyfriend, White. At one point, White got in his Jeep Patriot, began backing out with the driver’s side door open and knocked the woman and her son down, the probable cause affidavit states. White continued backing the Jeep while dragging the man and woman down the driveway for about 20 to 25 feet and almost pinned the two between two other vehicles in the driveway, according to investigators.

There was damage to another vehicle in the driveway. The man and woman were both injured and treated for their wounds

White has four prior felony convictions from Tulsa County: July 2020, stalking; and November 2021, protective order violation and two counts of threatening to perform an act of violence.

Held with the order to have no contact with the man and woman, White returns to court at 9 a.m. Dec. 18 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
