An operation by the Lawton Police Department and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs resulted in a pair of arrests for high yield drug trafficking and taking over 30 pounds of methamphetamine out of circulation.
Hector Alexandro Gordils, 44, and Paul Escandon, 65, both of Lawton, were arrested on March 29.
LPD’s Special Operations Unit and the OBNDD conducted several meth sales through an undercover agent over the past few months, the probable cause affidavit states. A traffic stop with Gordils driving and Escandon his passenger, led to a search of the vehicle which yielded no evidence, police said. Lawton Police Detective Jeff McCoy stated search warrants of the men’s home at 1311 ½ SW A and a storage unit rented by Gordils in Elgin were executed and the men were taken to the police department.
Investigators searching the home found multiple baggies of meth packaged for sale along with digital scales, a bag of mushrooms and $27,035 in cash, the affidavit states. The search of the storage unit yielded more meth, according to McCoy.
In total, police recovered 13,813.36 grams, or 30.42 pounds, of meth, according to the affidavit.
On Wednesday, the men made their initial appearances in Comanche County District Court.
Escandon was charged with felony counts of aggravated meth trafficking and maintaining a place for keeping/selling a controlled substance, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, records indicate. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
Gordils was charged with felony charges: two counts of aggravated meth trafficking, two counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, maintaining a place for keeping/selling a controlled substance, acquiring proceeds from drug activity, and the use of a telephone to conduct drug trafficking, and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to signal on turning.
A $10 million cash bond was ordered for Gordils.
