Suspects in two different murder cases have been bound over for trial in the Comanche County District Court.
First case
Following a preliminary hearing in Comanche County District Court, Jakievion Dre’shawn Johnson, a.k.a., Lil Dunnie LOC, 24, of Lawton, was bound over for trial for felony charges of first-degree murder – deliberate intent and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, records indicate. The murder charge is punishable by life in prison, life without parole or death.
Johnson is accused of his role in the April 23, 2024, shooting death of Donovan Moncree in the parking lot of the Bellaire Apartments, 622 SW Bishop. He had a fatal bullet wound to his forehead as well as other gunshot wounds. A witness identified Johnson and his brother, Derrick D. Lyles Jr., as the shooters, the probable cause affidavit states.
Lyles, 19, of Lawton, has also been bound over for trial for a felony count of first-degree murder.
Johnson has a prior felony conviction in Comanche County from September 2023 for accessory to first-degree murder, records indicate. He admitted to being in the vehicle when Lavonte Lawler was shot and killed on April 17, 2021, in the parking lot of Garrett’s Landings Apartments, 1321 SW 27th. He received a 10-year sentence with all but the first 880 days to serve in the Comanche County Detention Center suspended. With credit for time served, he was released soon after his plea.
Both, Johnson and Lyles are being held on $1 million bonds. Johnson returns to court at 9 a.m. Feb. 19 for his formal arraignment and Lyles returns at 9 a.m. March 2.
Second case
A Lawton man was bound over for trial for the 2022 killing John Donaldson.
Michael Oneal Timms, 45, was bound over for trial following his preliminary hearing in Comanche County District Court for felony counts of second-degree murder, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of a firearm after former felony convictions, records indicate. Due to the previous convictions, he faces between 40 years to life in prison if convicted of the murder count.
Timms is accused of pistol-whipping Donaldson during a Sept. 3, 2022, incident at Timms’ mother’s apartment at 6308 NW Oak. Although he took the magazine out of the handgun, a chambered bullet fired during a strike of the gun, hitting and killing Donaldson while he was seated in a chair in the living room, according to the warrant affidavit.
Timms fled in Donaldson’s pickup, the affidavit states. The truck was later found abandoned at the Bel Air Apartments, 622 SW Bishop.
Timms has a trio of felony convictions in Comanche County: May 2008, robbery with a weapon; April 2016, possession of a controlled dangerous substance; and April 2021 for possession of a firearm after conviction or during probation, records indicate.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Timms was also discharged in May from a four-year, 10-month sentence in the Arizona jurisdiction for a June 2017 conviction for negligent homicide with a motor vehicle.
Timms’ girlfriend, Tenasha Haith, 36, of Lawton, pleaded guilty in November 2024 to harboring a fugitive from justice and child neglect, as well as misdemeanor counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, records indicate. The child neglect count is punishable by up to life in prison.
In multiple interviews, including one with her lawyer, Haith said she didn’t have contact with Timms, according to the affidavit. She was aware he was wanted by law enforcement officers.
A Crime Stoppers tip led police back to Haith’s room at the motel. Timms and Haith were seen coming and going from the room. When confronted, Timms took off running before being caught and taken into custody.
Haith received a 20-year sentence with the Department of Corrections with two years to serve and the balance suspended, records indicate.
