The Lawton Public Library has announced a series of engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) classes for all ages. Whether a curious young mind or a lifelong learner, there’s something to spark everyone’s creativity and ignite a passion for problem-solving.
Here’s a sneak peek at the lineup:
For all ages:
3D Printing: Tinkercad Basics (Thursday, September 5, 4:30 pm — 5:30 pm): Explore the world of 3D Design with Tinkercad! Learners of all ages will have hands-on experience exploring the basic functions of Tinkercad & the process of bringing their own project to life. (Registration Required)
For ages 11-15:
Middle Makers (Monday, September 9, 6 p.m. — 7 p.m.): Explore a variety of STEM concepts in this open play Makerspace! Middle schoolers can explore, design, & learn at various hands-on stations designed to spark creativity & innovation.
For ages 4-7:
Making Music: Instrument Making for Young Learners (Saturday, September 21, 2 p.m. — 3 p.m.): Unleash your inner musician! Learn how to create musical instruments using recyclable materials! Young creators will be guided on how to make a musical instrument & can exercise their creativity & engineering skills to create a unique instrument of their own.
For ages 5-10:
Learning with LEGO (Friday, September 27, 4:30 PM — 5:30 PM): Let’s get building! Kids will be given several LEGO challenges to design, building their imaginative abilities & problem-solving skills.
For ages 12-18:
Computer Teardown Program (Saturday, September 14, 1 p.m. — 2:30 p.m.): Ever wondered what’s inside your computer? This program offers a unique opportunity to disassemble a computer and learn about its inner workings. (Registration Required)
