Competition will be fierce Saturday morning at the Cameron University Stadium field.
While pads will be clashing, it’ll be those on the paws of the competitors for the 2nd Annual Southwest Oklahoma Police Narcotics K-9 Competition. Competition gets underway at 10 a.m. on the stadium field, 2800 W. Gore.
The competition, sponsored by Crime Stoppers of Southwest Oklahoma, allows law enforcement officers and their four-legged partners to excel in the skills they put into practice on a daily basis.
The first competition will be to find the fastest narcotic detection and the second will be for the hardest hit/takedown tactics for which they are trained.
While the Lawton Police Department is the host team, competitors from all law enforcement agencies throughout the state are invited to attend and show what they can do.
This CLEET-certified event is free to watch and offers a family-friendly event to give the public a little more insight into the skills of these K-9 cops and their human partners.
Prizes range from $79.99 to $839.99.
