Traffic on H.E. Bailey/I-44 will be narrowed to one lane near Chickasha, beginning Monday, for shoulder repairs and guardrail installation.
The closure will affect westbound (lanes running north) and eastbound (lanes running south) at two locations: starting just south of U.S. 277/Fourth Street in Chickasha from Mile Marker 79 to 80; and between U.S. 277/U.S. 62/Oklahoma 9 and the Oklahoma 4/H.E. Bailey Spur, Mile Marker 89 to 102.
No ramps will be impacted during construction, according to the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority awarded the $8.7 million contract to T.J. Campbell Construction Co. in April. Work will be ongoing through Fall, weather permitting.
