A Lawton man who blamed meth use for his actions pleaded guilty and received 15 years with the Department of Corrections for inappropriate sexual contact.
Jeffery Randall Clontz Jr., 41, emtered a guilty plea Wednesday before Comanche County District Judge Grant Sheperd to a count of sexual battery after former felony conviction. The charge was amended from a felony charge of rape by instrumentation, records indicate.
Clontz has a September 2020 felony conviction in Wichita County, Texas, for sexual battery of a person over 16, records indicate.
Along with the 15 year sentence with credit for 469 days served in jail, Clontz will have to register as a sex offender and pay $1,876.50 in fines, fees and court costs.
Clontz is also ordered to stay away from the woman he admitted to sexual battery.
The woman told police she’d led Clontz stay at her apartment but when he wanted to be “friends with benefits,” she said no, the probable cause affidavit states. She said Clontz took her by the hand and led her to the bedroom and took off her clothes before she hit him to get him to stop but somehow she ended up on the bed, according to police.
The woman said she was crying when she crawled off the bed trying to get away from Clontz. He grabbed her by the ankles, pulled her back and then molested her with his fingers, according to the affidavit. A short time later, he left the apartment, she said.
Clontz told police he’d been high on meth when he went to the apartment and confirmed most of the woman’s story. He said he was sorry for what happened and felt bad about it because he’d thought it was consensual until she began crying, the affidavit states.
