No-Tap News:
As you have read, Rick Olson had a good week on the lanes, and it all started with a win in the Senior No-Tap Colorama back on the tenth of January. It was the day after the snowfall, and as we all know, it was a short-lived experience, and we were all back to normal in time for Friday afternoon’s event. Thirty bowlers were on hand following the day of being grounded, and for the most part, it was a high-scoring day.
Rick Olson led in the men’s division with games of 258, 265, and 278 for an 840 series with his handicap. Scott Brenke strung a few strikes for a 274 game three that allowed him to total out at 819 for second, and JP Nauman rounded out the top three in the men’s division with an 807.
Teri Jester rolled the same scratch total as she did the week before and took first place for the ladies with an 870. Margit Augustine found the zone after game one and ended up with an 840 series for second.
Teri Jester rolled 286, 266, and 300 for an 852 for first place in Scratch Singles. Rick Olson settled for second with 801, followed by Sam Bowman at 762, and JP Nauman had a 753 for fourth.
Honorable mention goes to John Fortner, who had big plans after starting his day with a no-tap 300 game, but we all know how quickly things change when it comes to bowling.
Teri Jester and Roy Johnson were Mystery Doubles partners, winning games one (557) and three (587), while Margit Augustine and her draw for the day, James Halstead, took game two (574). Mike Peckinpaugh won the Make That Spare challenge converting the 1-2-3-7-9, and James Halstead, John Fortner, Charles Norman, and Sam Bowman were strike pot ticket winners.
This event is held every Friday afternoon at 1 PM at Thunderbird Lanes and is open to all senior bow-lers aged 50 and above with a verifiable average.
