The Senate Democratic Caucus will host a public town hall in Lawton on Thursday.
Oklahoma Speaks Townhall is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Sunset Room of the Prairie Building at Great Plains Coliseum, 920 S. Sheridan. The event, which is free and open to the public, is the second in the series of events being hosted by Oklahoma Senate Democratic members.
Members who are coordinating the series include Senate Minority Leader Julia Kirt, Sen. Michael Brooks-Jiménez, Sen. Carri Hicks, Sen. Mark Mann and Sen. Nikki Nice.
“Most Oklahomans do not feel heard by their elected officials. They know that politics is broken. We remain committed to hearing from Oklahomans across the political spectrum. Since we are fighting for transparent, accountable government, we look forward to listening and problem solving directly with Oklahomans,” Kirt said. “We will spend a bit of time updating citizens on decisions happening at the State Capitol, but spend most of our time making sure the community can come together to speak their mind where elected officials can listen and take ideas back to the State Capitol to problem-solve.”
