Just shy of one year since bowling his fourth career perfect 300 game, Josh Schoonover lined up in the Suburban league once more and put number five in the books.
Schoonover had games of 224 and 200 going into game three where he lined up for the 12 brutal blows to the pocket to register this perfecto, giving him a 724 for series.
The week’s high series came from the Friday Night Mixed Rollers were Damon Claunch put games of 244, 223 and 279 together for a 746.
Honorable mention goes to Carl Mitchell who ran the front ten in the Guys and Dolls league, posting a career high 287.
Youth
Youth scores were added this week as their season gets underway.
Leading with a 558 for series was Jake Croft of the TBird Legends. Croft tacked on the week’s high game of 208 for good measure.
In the U12 HotShots, Lee Perry had the best set of 392 on games of 124, 114 and 154 and Kovie Hicks put the MiniShots first 100 game of the season on the board with a 105.
No-Tap News
Ken Knoff kept claim to the senior No-Tap crown, taking the title for the second time in a row, this week with a 926 score with his handicap.
Knoff rolled scratch games of 258, 212 and 288.
Randy Travis finished in second with 840.
Lil Johnson won the ladies division with 786, followed by Zari Conway with a 770.
Travis and Johnson were first and second in the Scratch Singles race with 723 and 699 respectively.
Mystery doubles winners were Ken Knoff with Margit Augustine in games one (570) and three (589) but LeRoy Conway and Maria Garcia foiled the sweep with a win in game two with a 531 total.
There were no Challenge Shot winners but Marshall Miller, Roy Johnson, Margit Augustine, Sam Bowman, Lil Johnson and Randy Travis were all winners in the Strike Pot ticket draws.
This event is held every Friday afternoon at Thunderbird Lanes; starting at 1PM. Bowlers must be at least 50 years old with a verifiable average to participate.
Po-Boy Mixed Doubles
Po-Boy Events presents, for one night only, T-Bird Mixed Doubles on October 4th, at 7pm.
All entries must be paid by 7pm on Oct. 3rd to reserve your spot. Limited to the first 24 paid entries.
Entry fee is $60 per team.
Teams bowl two games of qualifying with the top six teams advancing to one more game before cutting to the top three teams who will advance to a stepladder final.
Based on 24 teams, the top 6 teams will cash.
