RATLIFF CITY — A Tussy man was airlifted from a Tuesday afternoon wreck that sent him over a bridge and into a creek in Stephens County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Bobby M. Oneal, 69, was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with head and internal trunk injuries.
Oneal was driving a Ford F-250 pickup northbound on West County Line Road when he went off the gravel roadway to the right, struck a guardrail, went over the bridge and rolled an unknown number of times before landing on all four wheels in Wildhorse Creek, north of Old Oklahoma 7, Trooper Sheldon Glass reported. The truck was partially submerged and the driver was extricated by Ratliff City volunteer firefighters using the Halligan tool. It’s unknown if Oneal was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver’s condition and cause of the wreck remain under investigation.
