INDIAHOMA — A Frederick woman is in critical condition following a Thursday morning wreck 7½ miles south of Indiahoma.
Olivia E. McDowell, 52, was flown by Surival Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in critical condition with a head injury, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Olivia McDowell was the passenger in a Jeep Cherokee driven by John M. McDowell that was traveling westbound on Southwest Baseline Road around 1:45 a.m. Thursday when the vehicle went off the roadway to the right, overcorrected, crossed the center line and went off the roadway to the left, Trooper Luke Norton reported. The Jeep then hit a ditch, rolled an unknown number of times before coming to rest on its top near 267th Street. Olivia McDowell was ejected during the rollover.
John McDowell, 44, of Frederick, was treated and released from Comanche County Memorial Hospital.
Norton reported neither the driver nor passenger were wearing seatbelts.
The driver was reported to have an odor of alcohol and the cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
