An attempted traffic stop led to a pursuit that ended with a crash Wednesday.
A Lawton Police Officer attempted to stop a silver Dodge Charger for an improper turn at Northwest 23rd Street and Cache Road, when the fled from the officer causing a short vehicle pursuit, said Lt. Charles Whittington, Lawton Police Department information officer. The car struck a truck and trailer in the intersection of North Sheridan Road and West Gore Boulevard.
The suspect was taken into custody for improper turn, driver’s license required, eluding police, causing an accident while driving without a license and possession of marijuana/controlled dangerous substances, Whittington said.
