ANADARKO — A Cyril man waived his preliminary hearing and had three of five counts dismissed Monday for what investigators called a methamphetamine-related incident with his girlfriend.
William Lee Black, 41, made his initial appearance Jan. 16 in Caddo County District Court for felony charges of kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of feloniously pointing a firearm and a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse — assault and battery, records indicate.
After waiving his preliminary hearing, the district attorney’s office dismissed the felony kidnapping and assault and battery charges as well as the misdemeanor count.
Cyril Police were called shortly after Jan. 14 to a home at 203 N. 4th Street where two people said Black had pointed a gun and threatened them before leaving in a black Dodge Ram truck, the probable cause affidavit states.
The dismissed charges stem from allegations made by Black’s girlfriend who said he’d been holding her against her will, physically assaulting and threatening her and that he’d blown meth smoke in her face, according to the affidavit.
Formal arraignment for the two gun charges is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 1.
