A remodeling project which may last for months started this week at Patterson Center, No. 4 NE Arlington.
The Center is among three projects that will be renovated, totaling around $200,000 for all projects lasting until early fall.
Landon Langley, owner of Langley Family General Contracting, said his firm plans on remodeling the ceiling, including replacing ceiling tiles, for the next three weeks. The plan is to move forward a little at a time, depending on what the city says.
Larry Parks, Parks and Recreation director for the City of Lawton, said citizens can expect to see new flooring, ceilings, HVACs, painting, kitchen upgrades, lighting and security upgrades.
Parks also said the center is one of three improvements to specific community centers in Lawton. Other community centers include Dr. E.A. Owens Center and HC King Center.
“All these project funds came from the community 2019 CIP Propel funds,” Parks said. “Our citizens voted for these improvements and we are exhausting the remainder of these funds.”
Yolanda Allen, activities coordinator at Patterson Center, said some activities will be shuffled, but not all.
Parks said the center will be open for the remaining projects.
